Lampshade workshop with Anna Liebmann - Autumn Gathering, Scottish Basketmakers Circle 2024

I had the most incredible time attending the SBC Autumn Gathering at the Wasps Creative Studios in Inverness .

It was so much fun learning from @anna.liebmann.basketweaver who gave us absolutely tonnes of ideas and inspiration on the first morning and taught us everything we asked (and SO much more). Anna was so much fun to be around and learn from. I loved all the creativity and collaboration happening in the group. We all made totally different lampshades, and I was so happy with my finished work. I wanted to learn how to learn how to make shapes in the weaving, separated by a wale and Anna was able to teach me how to create these lozenge shapes using packing. I am so grateful for the all the skills I learned from Anna and looking forward to honing these to create lots of willow lampshade.

It was great to see @hannavanaelst and @jillygreig_myweavingjourney and hang out in Scotland this time. It was so lovely getting to know my awesome roomie @rachelswillowdesigns . Have a look at her beautiful willow sculptures!

It was fab to meet @katybremerbasketry in real life after so many instagram messages, and also… finally meeting Aurore @windyseeds
I am so grateful to all the organisers. It was such a valuable and fun experience.

Hanna came back to Skye after the gathering and we had the dreamiest time on the croft weaving backpacks together and helping Phil collect seeds for the Broadford Community Tree Nursery.

Please get in touch if you would like to order a lampshade for your own home.
